Mixtape Hanoi #Special issue: Celebrating 01 year of release
Hanoi - the capital of a thousand years of civilization, has gone through many historical ups and downs and witnessed many changes. Have you ever wondered how the Hanoi of today will be different from tomorrow? Have you ever wondered what I will tell you when the city today is just memories? Concerned by those simple questions, Mixtape Hanoi was born. Each scent, color, and sound is meticulously packaged, becoming a gift for those who have, are, and will always have a special place in their hearts for Hanoi.
CONCEPT
As part of the overall concept “Mixtape – tape”, the theme of the special issue revolves around the harmony of the land of Hanoi. With 3 chapters of low notes, high notes and humming notes, the publication will take readers through different emotional levels about the capital Hanoi.Daily images of people combined with turntables and music tablatures have created a harmonious, rounded look of Hanoi past and present.

With the desire to bring an image of Hanoi as an intersection between tradition and modernity, the special Mixtape issue uses colors with bold elements: youthful, dynamic and fresh.

Hanoi is a special song, a piece of music crystallized from very unique sounds. Going through 12 different Mixtape numbers, we have come across 12 interesting perspectives on Hanoi. Those 12 perspectives are a blend of colors, sounds, and very unique stories and memories of Hanoi.
As a city more than a thousand years old, Hanoi always has a unique romantic and loving appearance. That beauty is like the low notes in a music staff, the “background” of a colorful harmony. And that harmony begins with the sound of the lathe on the rustic To Tich street, of the sound of old books next to people preserving time, of yellowed handwritten letters and peaceful small alleys.
Standing out against the background of romantic low notes, is the soaring sound of cheerful high notes. From the chatter and laughter of generations in the modern dormitory, to the “thumping” sound of the hovering train. From the sounds of joy over childhood gifts to the bustle of streetside beer stalls, all create a very bustling Hanoi.
Going back and forth between high and low notes is the unique sound of Hanoi. Each note sounds like a highlight, a stop on the musical journey of the Mixtape tape. Those melodies represent the most simple things of Hanoi, existing on this land as a natural thing. It is a simple and charming Hanoi in autumn, thinking through the corners of Hang Buom street, or leisurely the flow of people and cars, filled with endless moments of changing seasons.
